Description

Rumtse to Tsomoriri / Korzok Trek is one of the most beautiful trek in Ladakh. In this trek, you will have an oppourtunity to visit two beautiful lakes - Tsokar & Tsomoriri. Also, you will have an oppurtunity to experience the 'Nomadic Life' where people live with Yaks and Sheeps. This trip is your best chance to experience Wild Life and numerous Beautiful Landscapes. 

Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day 1. Rumtse to Kyamar (4538 metres) (6 hours)

    Morning after the break fast, cross the river and enter in to the valley through a rough motorable road. After walking for a few minutes cross the river to the left and walk in same direction. Cross another tributaries coming from the right side. Walk through the valley and finally you turn to the north and the camp site. Next to shepherds place. 

  • Day 2. Kyamar to Tisaling (4940 metres) via Kyumur La (5071 metres) & Mandalchan La (5207 metres) (7 hours)

    After a few minutes walk from the campsite, the ascent of Kyumur La starts its easy but very long way to reach the top. There are beautiful flowers on the way. From the top of the pass, the trail divides into two - one goes to your left which leads towards same destination but one day longer.
     

    The trail that falls on your right hand side, goes down to stream and start climbing another pass across the stream. There is no trail to be seen for sometimes, but after few minutes, a clear trail leads you to the top of the Mandalchan La (4996m). The trail further goes up and then steeps down to a beautiful area called Tisaling. You can pitch your tent here near the stream.
     

  • Day 3. Tisaling to Pangunagu (Tsokar) 4398m via Shibuk La 5016m (7 hours)

    Today, you have to cross Shibuk La near the camp site. There are two hill saddles, so you have to cross the right saddle. As soon as you come to the top of the pass you can have a beautiful view of Tsokar Lake. Walk down the to Tsokar Lake through the valley so as to finish the valley walk through the hill where the camp site is just behind the hill.

  • Day 4 Pangunangu to Nuruchan 4678 Metres (5:30 hours)

    Today, its an easy walk along the lake. Motorable road and take the direction from the end of the Stupa along the road. After sometime, you can have a beautiful view of Agriculture Field, and you will spend time on the camp side which is next the the field near the river. 

  • Day 5. Trek Nuruchan to Gyama Barma (5195 metres) (6 hours)

    As easy ascend to the pass takes around 1 hours 30 minutes, the trailtruns towards North-East just after crossing the pass through the valley. The camp site is across the river at the base of the Kyamayurla Pass.

  • Day 6. Gyama Barma to Gyamar (5157 metres) (5 hours)

    Start climbing Kyamayur La Pass 5125m as soon as you leave your camp, which takes around 2hrs at the average speed. The last climb is tiring one . After the pass, the trail leads towards north east and at the end of the valley, trail starts ascending another small pass called Gyamaila 5100m from where you can have view of a group of peaks. Walk down towards the North-East and cross a small river. 

  • Day 7. Gyamar to Korzok (Tsomoriri) (4553 metres) (6 hours)

    Start an easy ascent to the Korzok Pass along the stream. It takes around 2 hours to reach the top from where you can have wondeful view of the lake. Then steep down to Korzok village. You can also camp along the lake if you have extra days. One day rest.
